“Bouncing Around the Room”

Trey Anastasio and Tom Marshall wrote it, and Phish recorded it in Vermont for Lawn Boy, released in 1990, with Trey, Mike Gordon and Page McConnell sharing the singing. A live version from New Year’s Eve 1994 at the Boston Garden opens the band’s 1995 album A Live One. For decades it stayed short and sweet, played close to the record nearly 500 times in all, and fans count it among the most beloved songs Phish plays. Then, at Deer Creek in Indiana on July 10, 2026, the band stretched it into a jam for the first time, about 15 minutes long, and the crowd roared. Even a Vermont elementary school chorus has sung it.
